Hamtramck Man Accused Of Threatening Judge: Prosecutors

Wayne County prosecutors said Zijad Talic threatened a district court judge in a text message to another person.

DETROIT, MI — A 41-year-old Hamtramck man has been accused of making threats toward a Wayne County judge.

Wayne County prosecutors said Zijad Talic is charged with making a threat of terrorism, obstruction of justice, third-degree fleeing and eluding and malicious use of a telecommunication device.

According to Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy, Talic on July 1 made death threats regarding Krot via a text message to a third party. The Hamtramck Police Department received the information about the threats and conducted an investigation leading to Talic, prosecutors said.

When officers went to arrest the Talic, he attempted to elude them by not stopping his car and by committing traffic violations, prosecutors said. He was eventually arrested later that day, prosecutors said.

Talic was given a $150,000 bail and a probable cause conference has been scheduled for July 20, prosecutors said.

The judge, Alexis Krot of the 31st District Court, has recused herself from hearing the case, prosecutors said.
