Lions Extend Contracts For GM Brad Holmes, Coach Dan Campbell
The head coach and general manager will stay with the team through the 2027 season.

DETROIT — General manager Brad Holmes and coach Dan Campbell will stay with the Lions for the next four seasons, through 2027, according to the team, which announced the contract extensions Thursday.
"They have been the driving force behind the rebuild of our football team and the success that we have enjoyed,” principal owner and chair Sheila Hamp said in a news release. “The continuity they provide for our football program will continue to be the key to our future success on the field."
Holmes joined the team before the 2021 season and has rebuilt the roster with draft selections including Penei Sewell in 2021, Aidan Hutchinson and Jameson Williams in 2022, and Jahmyr Gibbs and Jack Campbell in 2023. Holmes came to Detroit from the Los Angeles Rams where he spent 18 years and served as college scouting director.

Campbell joined the Lions less than a week after Holmes. The former tight end has compiled a 24-26-1 record in his first full-time head coaching job, taking the Lions to their first NFL playoff victory in 32 years.
The team also Thursday announced a multi-year contract extension for Chris Spielman, one of the most decorated players in Lions history, who works as special assistant to the president and CEO and chairperson.
