Lower Michigan’s First Fall Snowflakes Are Expected This Weekend
Sure, it was 70 degrees this week, but the Upper Peninsula already saw measurable snow.

MICHIGAN — It may feel like fall just started around the Mitten with those 70-degree temps to we saw to start the week, but Mother Nature is moving full steam ahead. That’s right, the first fall snowflakes are falling in the Lower Peninsula this weekend.
Last week, the first snow was reported in the UP. It was mostly slushy and didn’t last long, but it was measurable snow, WDIV reported.
Friday night in Lower Northern Michigan, from around Gaylord to Traverse City, light snow showers are expected as temperatures drop below 32 degrees.

"Snowflakes are expected to mix in tonight, primarily across the higher terrain. Drier weather and some sunshine returns for Saturday before more rain showers arrive Saturday night and Sunday," the National Weather Service said.
It’s going to feel cold in Metro Detroit, but not cold enough for snow - at least not yet. There is a chance for cold rain showers this weekend and frost is likely, however.
