Man Shot Dead Outside Detroit Liquor Store On Woodward Avenue: Police

Police are looking for four men in connection with the fatal shooting.

DETROIT — Police are looking for four men in connection with a Tuesday fatal shooting that left a man dead outside a liquor store near downtown Detroit, according to police.

The shooting happened at 9:15 a.m. in the 8000 block of Woodward Avenue in Detroit's New Center neighborhood, according to police.

Police said the victim, a man in his 30s, walked out of the liquor store and was approached by four men who exited a stolen silver Nissan Versa.

The men then fired "numerous" shots at the victim before getting back into their vehicle and speeding away south on Woodward, according to police.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital where he died, according to police.

Police later recovered the stolen car, but not the suspected shooters.

Police believe the incident was a targeted shooting.

Police described the shooters as:

  • Suspect 1: Wearing a blue jacket, black sweatpants with an orange strip going down the leg
    and black shoes and armed with a handgun with a drum magazine.
  • Suspect 2: Wearing a blue puffer jacket with gray jeans and tan boots and armed with a long gun.
  • Suspect 3: Wearing all black with black shoes and armed with a long gun.
  • Suspect 4: Wearing a black jacket with fur around the hood, black jeans and black shoes and armed with a handgun with an extended magazine.
