Michigan Coronavirus Update: 5,035 New Cases, 29 More Deaths

MICHIGAN — Michigan added 5,035 new cases of the coronavirus and 29 additional deaths Monday, according to the most recent COVID-19 data released Monday by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.

The new cases represent what has been reported in Michigan since Saturday, officials said. The updated figures bring the total number of COVID-19 cases in Michigan to 849,420 cases and 17,771 COVID-19 deaths.

Officials on Saturday reported that 660,124 people in Michigan had recovered from the coronavirus.

Michigan's Monday COVID-19 update comes as the state eclipsed the 7 million mark for doses of the COVID-19 vaccines that have been administered.
