Michigan Coronavirus Update: 6,303 New Cases, 112 More Deaths

More than 770,000 cases of the coronavirus have been confirmed in Michigan as of Thursday.

MICHIGAN — Michigan added over 6,000 new COVID-19 cases and more than 100 more deaths attributed to the virus on Thursday, according to state health officials.

The state reported 6,303 new COVID-19 cases and 112 additional COVID-19 deaths, according to the latest data released Thursday by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.

Eighty-one of the deaths were identified through a vital records review and occurred earlier this year, according to health officials.

The updated coronavirus numbers bring Michigan's statewide totals to 770,882 confirmed cases of the coronavirus and 16,731 reported COVID-19 deaths, according to the state.

Michigan reported 7,955 COVID-19 cases on Wednesday.

On Saturday, Michigan officials said 587,283 people in the state had recovered from the virus as of Friday.
