Friday is the deadline for unvaccinated Michiganders to get one of the three COVID-19 immunizations that will qualify them for the Sweepstakes' remaining $50,000 cash giveaways as well as the top prize of a $2 million drawing.

The MI Shot To Win Sweepstakes has received a total of more than 2.2 million applicants for the grand prizes since it began July 1, with nearly 98,000 young Michiganders signed up for the college scholarship drawing, officials said Monday.

Officials said the goal of the public outreach campaign is to provide incentives to Michiganders to get a COVID-19 vaccination. The state had previously set a goal of having 70 percent of eligible people vaccinated by Labor Day. As of Thursday, 62.9 percent of Michigan residents age 16 and older have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccinations.
