Michigan Election 2019: 4 Cities Voting On Marijuana Businesses

Voters in these four cities will decide on business proposals at the polls Tuesday.

METRO DETROIT, MI — As voters head to the polls for local races Tuesday, four cities are weighing in on one of the state's trending topics this year: marijuana businesses.

Friday was the first day LARA’s Michigan Marijuana Regulatory Agency (MRA) began accepting applications for recreational marijuana businesses. Now, voters in these four cities will decide on business proposals at the polls: Keego Harbor, Walled Lake, Allen Park and Lincoln Park.

According to WDIV, here is what is being decided: In Keego Harbor, there is a proposal to allow four medical marijuana dispensaries and four recreational store; in Walled Lake, voters will consider allowing eight recreational marijuana retailers; in Allen Park, there’s a proposal to allow three marijuana retailers and three micro businesse; in Lincoln Park, voters will consider allowing two medical and two recreational marijuana shops.
