Michigan Reports 489 New Coronavirus Cases, 7 Additional Deaths

MICHIGAN — The number of coronavirus cases in Michigan has surpassed 74,000, according to the most recent data provided by state health officials Monday.
Michigan reported 489 new coronavirus cases Monday, bringing the state's coronavirus case total to 74,152. The state also reported seven new deaths being attributed to the virus, which brings Michigan's coronavirus death toll to 6,126.
As of Friday, Michigan has reported 55,162 residents have recovered from the coronavirus.

On Saturday, Michigan reported 678 new cases of the coronavirus and 9 new deaths. The total brought Michigan's weekly case total to 4,232, the highest weekly number of cases since mid-May, The Detroit News reported.
Michigan ranks 13th in the U.S. in total coronavirus cases, according to data gathered and provided by the World Health Organization, which factors in probable cases as well as confirmed cases of the virus. The state ranks seventh in the nation in coronavirus deaths, according to the World Health Organization. Michigan has ranked as high as third in both cases and deaths at different points during the pandemic.
The U.S. has reported more than 3.9 million confirmed cases of the coronavirus, according to World Health Organization numbers. The U.S. has also reported more than 143,000 deaths attributed to the virus and that over 1.8 million people within the nation have recovered from the virus.
Around the world, over 14.7 million cases of the coronavirus have been reported, according to the World Health Organization. Of those, more than 611,000 people have died and over 8.8 million people have recovered from the virus.
