TAYLOR, MI — Michigan State Police officials from the Metro Post in Taylor hosted a car seat safety event Saturday meant to ensure parents know how to safely install car seats and can have their children properly secured during commutes.

Certified car seat technicians were on hand to show how children ages 4-8 should be seated in car seats, an important measure when considering that booster seat use can reduce the risk of serious injury by 45 percent for children ages 4-8, when compared to just safety belt use alone, according to the Michigan State Police.
