The first round of scattered snow showers will move into the Detroit area Wednesday afternoon, according to the weather service.

Forecasters expect roughly 1 inch of fresh snow across the area.

Thursday will stay cold before another round of light snow is expected to move into the area on Friday, according to the weather service.
