BROOKLYN, MI — A county music star is paying for the funeral expenses of three men who saw him perform at the Faster Horses Festival before they died from accidental carbon monoxide poisoning, the Associated Press reported Friday.

Luke Combs is paying the burial costs for 19-year-old Kole Sova, 20-year-old William Mays Jr., and 20-year-old Dawson Brown after they were found dead inside a travel trailer on July 17. The friends were exposed to emissions from a portable generator that was too close to their camper, according to the AP, which cited police. Two more young men remain in a hospital.

“For him to reach out and do that, I don’t even have the words. I wish I could just give him a hug,” Meeka Sova, the mother of Kole Sova, told the AP.
