New Cocktail Lounge With Throwback Vibes Opening In Downtown Detroit This Week
The new lounge, which features 1960s and 70s bar culture, promises to be "Detroit's most intimate room."
DETROIT — A new cocktail lounge with throwback vibes is opening in downtown Detroit this week.
Saksey's will open Friday in the lower level of Gilly’s Clubhouse and Rooftop, located at 1550 Woodward Avenue.
The new lounge, which features 1960s and 70s bar culture, promises to be "Detroit's most intimate room." It is the latest collaboration between the Gilbert Family and NoHo Hospitality, who operates San Morello and the Evening Bar.

The cocktail menu will feature Detroit inspirations, such as the Root Beer Negroni and the bar's Teeny "Tinis," which are small martinis. It will also offer food.
"Detroit has this special mix of grit and grace that immediately resonated with me," NoHo bar Director Darryl Chan said. "At Saksey’s, we’re channeling that spirit through cocktails that nod to classic recipes but bend the rules. We’re exploring nostalgic flavors and unique presentations throughout this menu concept, with each drink requiring serious technique, yet paired with a sense of play."

Saksey's will be open Tuesday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 12 a.m. and Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.
