Want a dose of heart-warming news Tuesday? Local police will be out hosting basketball games with neighborhood kids in a special event.

INKSTER, MI — Looking for some feel-good news? You’ll catch officers from the Michigan State Police playing a game of ball with local kids Tuesday evening. It’s part of a community event with the MSP Metro South Post, the Basketball Cop Foundation and the Inkster Police Department. The games will take place 5-7 p.m. Tuesday in LeMoyne Gardens in Inkster.
The event includes some friendly games with neighborhood children, free food and refreshments and an ice cream truck. A perfect summer evening.
The best part? At the end of the games, the community gets to keep the basketball hoop to use for free, thanks to the Basketball Cop Foundation.
