Police Officer Fatally Shot In Detroit
Nearly 300 officers from around the region showed up to show their support at the hospital.
DETROIT, MI — The Detroit Police Department is mourning the loss of one of their own following a fatal shooting in the city Wednesday night.
Police were reportedly responding to a home invasion around 7 p.m. in the 20000 block of Wyoming Avenue when the 18-year veteran of the force was fatally struck in the neck by a gunman. WDIV reported that the neighborhood was on lockdown until about 4:30 a.m.Thursday.
A second officer was shot in the incident and is recovering in the hospital.

The suspect was also shot when officers returned fire, reports said. He is currently in the hospital.
