Severe Storms Pass Through State With Warm Front

MICHIGAN — Storms are moving across the state over the next several days as a warm front moves in. Wednesday night begins the chance for severe thunderstorms and showers. There will be high winds up to 60 mph after midnight through Thursday morning.

Expect more possible thunderstorms Friday night into Sunday. It may be a wet weekend, but by Monday, temperatures will be back to almost 80 degrees. How’s that for fall weather.

Wednesday afternoon
Mostly cloudy, with a high near 76. South wind around 10 mph.

Wednesday night
Showers, mainly after 3am. Low around 66. Breezy, with a south southwest wind 9 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Thursday
Showers likely before 9am. Cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a temperature falling to around 62 by 5pm. West wind 13 to 15 mph becoming north in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Thursday night
Mostly clear, with a low around 45. North northeast wind 8 to 10 mph.

Friday
A chance of showers between 9am and 3pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 62. East northeast wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Friday night
Showers likely after 3am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 58. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

Saturday
Showers likely, mainly after 3pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 79. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
