Ted Nugent Says He's COVID-19 Positive After Downplaying Virus
The musician posted a video to Facebook saying he'd tested positive for the coronavirus but criticized available COVID-19 vaccines.

MICHIGAN — Ted Nugent was back on Facebook Tuesday, announcing he'd tested positive for the coronavirus — just days after downplaying the pandemic and spreading conspiracies related to the virus.
"I've got an announcement to make," Nugent — a Michigan native known as the Motor City Madman — said in a video posted to Facebook. "Everybody told me that I should not announce this. I have had flu symptoms for the last ten days. I thought I was dying.
"I was tested positive today. I've got the Chinese s***."

Nugent later goes on to describe some of his symptoms in the video, in which he says he has trouble crawling out of bed. He coughs throughout the video but generally doesn't appear fatigued or tired.

Midway through the video, Nugent questions the medical handling of the coronavirus, including testing and vaccinations.
"I haven't taken the vaccine because nobody knows what's in it," Nugent said. "Actually, some people do know what's in it and if you can't even honestly answer our questions of exactly what's in it then why are you testing it on human beings and forcing it upon people in such a short time?"
The Moderna and Pfizer vaccines have been found to be safe in clinical trials. A third vaccine, released by Johnson & Johnson, is in the midst of what officials are calling a temporary pause as authorities investigate six people who took the vaccine and also were found to have blood clots.

He's also been quoted saying Michigan, "doesn't qualify as America anymore" because of its gun laws, and that "all men are not created equal" in reference to the end of apartheid in South Africa.
The singer also called Parkland school shooting survivors seeking tougher gun laws "poor, mushy-brained children."
