Wayne County Nurse Facing More Sex Assault Charges: Prosecutor

Prosecutors said he sexually assaulted a 31-year-old woman when she was a patient​ at a Wayne County hospital.

DETROIT — A Detroit hospital is facing several sexual assault charges, according to prosecutors.

Wilfredo Figueroa-Berrios, 47, of Wayne, was charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct in connection with an incident that happened in August at Detroit Sinai-Grace Hospital where he worked.

Prosecutors said Figueroa-Berrios sexually assaulted a 31-year-old woman when she was a patient at the hospital on Aug. 12. He was placed in jail and given a $100,000 bond.

If he posts bond, he must wear a GPS tether and follow a curfew from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. His next court date is scheduled for Oct. 13.

In September, Figueroa-Berrios was charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct and fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct. Prosecutors said he forced himself into a porta-potty outside Detroit’s Grand Circus Park on May 9 and sexually assaulted a 41-year-old woman.

Prosecutors also said Figueroa-Berrios was facing four additional sexual assault cases.
