Wayne County Woman Left Child In Garbage Bag, Prosecutors Say
A Wayne County woman has been accused of abandoning and killing her newborn child, according to prosecutors.
LINCOLN PARK, MI — A 28-year-old Wayne County woman faces murder and child abuse charges stemming from the death of her newborn child, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said this week.
Autumn Chenell Tate, of Lincoln Park, is charged with felony murder, first-degree child abuse and abandonment of a child, prosecutors said.
According to the prosecutor's office, Tate's charges stem from a Lincoln Park Police Department investigation in which officers, responding to a report of a suspicious situation in the 4000 block of Fort Street on March 6, found a bag with a newborn child inside.
