'White Boy Rick' Free After 32 Years Behind Bars

Richard Wershe Jr. was released Monday from a Florida halfway house and is a free man for the first time in 32 years.

DETROIT, MI — Richard Wershe Jr., otherwise known as "White Boy Rick," was released Monday from a Florida halfway house where he had been living and is a free man for the first time in 32 years, according to reports.

ClickOnDetroit reported that Wershe had been staying at the Transition House in Kissimmee, Florida, but was released Monday. He was released from the Oaks Correctional Facility in Michigan in 2017 following nearly three decades behind bars.

Wershe was scheduled to be released from a Florida prison in 2021, but was released early due to good behavior, ClickOnDetroit reported.
