2 Chances to Prowl for Owls This Month

The Owl Prowls will be held on consecutive Fridays at Farmington Hills' Heritage Park.

FARMINGTON HILLS, MI – Owl Prowls to be held two nights this month will give residents a chance to see owls and other nocturnal creatures that live in Heritage Park.

The guided night hikes will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. on both Friday, Jan 8, and Friday, Jan. 15.

Participants will listen for owl calls and find out what makes these nocturnal creatures such expert hunters and survivalists.

Participants will meet inside the Nature Center at Heritage Park. All ages are welcome, but children must be accompanied by an adult. Participants are encouraged to dress for the weather and wear sturdy boots or shoes. No flashlights will be allowed.

The cost is $5 per person. Pre-registration is required at the Costick Center or online at http://recreg.fhgov.com. This program usually sells out, so early registration is encouraged.

In case of inclement weather, participants will be notified of a cancellation.
