5 Cool Activities for Farmington Public Schools Kids
Kids have many ways to fill their time outside the classroom.

As the school year starts, Farmington Public Schools students have a wide variety of activities to enjoy outside the classroom.

1. Running
Beechview Elementary is launching a Marathon Club for kids to get in shape byΒ walking, jogging or runningΒ 26.2 miles over the course of 26 weeks.Β2. Junior Honor Society
This program recognizesΒ outstanding students in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, citizenship, and character, and is available to students at East and Dunckel Middle Schools.Β3. Science Olympiad
East Middle School and Power Upper Elementary students and parents interested in this program are invited to a Sept. 13, 6:30 p.m., in the Power cafeteria. Science OlympiadΒ teams compete inΒ 23 events that cover a broad range of science subjects. The activity isΒ aligned with the Michigan Science curriculum.4. Destination Imagination
Two Farmington SchoolsΒ DIΒ teamsΒ took global honors during the last school year. Not every school offers this program, which is dependent on parent involvement. Student DIΒ teams work independently to solve unique challenges.Β5. Foreign Languages at Warner Upper Elementary
Parents are invited to learn more on Wednesday, 7 p.m., about a new language program offered at Warner through a partnership withΒ Linguaflo and the Farmington Hills Youth Center.
