5 Good News Stories You Might Have Missed

Take a look at the good news that happened in Farmington and Farmington Hills this week.

A lot of news comes through Farmington-Farmington Hills Patch every week, and some of it can be distressing. Today, we're recapping some of the good news from the past week.Β 

1. After the storm

High winds and rain blew through downtown Farmington a week ago,Β during this year's Founders Festival. The storm lasted just minutes, and after it blew over, Patch reader Marilyn Lennis caught two beautiful photos of the sunset that followed. Find them here and here. 2. Farmington Hills dentist honored

Dr. Andrea Nakisher is amongΒ HourΒ magazine's Top Dentists in metro Detroit. Read all about it: "Nakisher Orthodontics Named Hour Top Dentist".Β 

3. Charter One collects school supplies

The Gear for Grades program ensures kids go back to school with the items they need to be successful. Read how you can help: "Charter One launches annual Gear for Grades initiative to send local children back to school with new backpacks and school supplies".Β 

4. Actors Avenue and Miss Farmington help a young family

Farmington-based nonprofit S.O.U.L. (Source of Universal Love) held a fundraiser Wednesday to help a young family replace the roof on their home. Kids from Actors Avenue volunteered to entertain those who attended, and Miss Farmington Kristina Franchi delivered a check for $250. The fundraiser acheived its goal, which is the best news of all. 5. Farmington Hills firm says metro home prices on the rise

RealComp, with offices on Orchard Lake Road, delivered good news for metro Detroit homeowners this week.
