Art on the Grand Returns to Downtown Farmington

An annual favorite, juried art show combines urban flair and small town charm.

FARMINGTON, MI – Art on the Grand, a juried art show that brings more than 100 artists and craftsmen and women together in Farmington’s historic downtown, is returning for its seventh year next month.

Artists represent a variety of media, including painting, sculpture, fiber, ceramics, glass, jewelry, metal, mixed media, photography and others. Event hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday, June 4, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, June 5.

The Farmington Downtown Development Authority and Farmington Hills Special Services Department’s Cultural Arts Division partner to sponsor the stand-alone art show known for its mix of urban flair and small town charm.

While adults peruse artist booths lining both sides of Grand River Avenue, kids can take part in make-and-take projects and other art-related activities.

While you’re downtown, several restaurants will offer patio dining that will allow guests to still enjoy the ambience of the street fair while winding down.

Some merchants will also be offering sidewalk sales of merchandise, and the Farmington Farmers & Artisans Market will be going on in Riley Park from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, June 4. Early arrivals can chose from growers’ and prepared foods only during that day’s market.

Grand River Avenue will close at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 3, for set-up.
