Bid, Walk with Canine College to Help Animals in Need
The Farmington Hills business aims to raise $10,000 for the Michigan Humane Society.

A Farmington Hills dog day care business has launched an online auction to help raise $10,000 for the Michigan Humane Society.Β
Canine College, located on Research Drive, this year continues itsΒ corporate partnership with the Michigan Humane Society and is sponsoringΒ the 2013 Mega March for Animals,Β held atΒ Kensington Metropark or Stony Creek Metropark onΒ Oct. 6 andΒ Hart Plaza inΒ Detroit onΒ Oct. 13.
The Mega March is a two-mile fundraising walk (shorter routes are available at each location) that is open to everyone, with or without pets.Β
Anyone can join the Canine CollegeΒ team; registration will be held Aug. 7, 4 p.m.-6:30 p.m.Β MHS representatives will give a βgoodie bagβ to those who register and make a donation of $25 or more that day.
This year'sΒ Silent Auction has more thanΒ 60 donatedΒ items up for bids through Aug. 31.Β
Among the auction items available to the publicΒ are:Β
- a Detroit Red Wing Jimmy Howard jersey signed by theΒ entire team
- aΒ signed Pavel Datsyuk jersey
- a hockey stick signed by Patrick Eaves
- a hockey puck signed byΒ Tomas Holmstom
- a Hockeytown Poster signed by 2010 team
- iPad Mini
- gift certificates forΒ restaurant, legal services, spas and salons
