Farmington Communities Aim To Be Inclusive
Feb. 16 event co-sponsored by Community Cares Network and Multicultural Multiracial Community Council of Farmington and Farmington Hills.

From CCN: Farmington and Farmington Hills have a long and proud history of welcoming diversity in our communities. But many events of the past year have challenged residents to question how we can make sure that all of our residents and visitors always feel included and respected. In an effort to show that our communities are as committed as ever to honoring the beauty and strength in our diverse cities, we are holding an "opportunity" for learning and action.
Join your friends, neighbors and fellow citizens for "Our Role. Our Response. Our Action.", Thursday evening, February 16, from 7 - 8:30 pm at the Farmington Community Library Auditorium, 32737 West Twelve Mile Road, Farmington Hills.

This event, follows three community forums held by the Community Cares Network in 2016. Residents asked for information and opportunities to show support and become involved in ways both large and small. At the Feb. 16 event, seven community organizations will share their missions and offer options for support and engagement. Those organizations represent a wide variety of issues including LGBTQ concerns, social justice, suicide awareness and prevention, racism, domestic violence, refugee assistance, and learning how to stand up to hateful rhetoric and prejudice. This will be a chance to learn and choose your form of participation toward making sure our communities remain informed and welcoming to all.

Community Cares Network (CCN) is a group of concerned residents living in Farmington and Farmington Hills who believe that when citizens of goodwill come together to hear each other's voices, to listen to each other's concerns and to work together toward solving the problems that divide us, only then can we assure that our communities remain open and welcoming to everyone -- no matter race, religion, gender, economic status, or place of birth.
