Farmington Public Schools Cancels Classes, Activities Amid Storm

With up to eleven inches of snow expected, Farmington Public Schools announced Friday's closing Thursday evening.

With a winter storm on the way and meteorologists predicting snowfall of 9 to 11 inches across the area, nearly every school in Metro Detroit and still more in Washtenaw and Macomb counties announced Thursday that Friday classes would be canceled. By midnight, Click on Detroit’s school closings page listed over 700 area schools that had announced weather-related closures for Friday.

With so much snow predicted for the morning, Farmington Public Schools joined this large group of schools and announced the cancellation of its Friday classes.

According to the schools' Facebook and Twitter, "Farmington Public Schools will be closed tomorrow Friday, February 9 due to the forecasted winter storm. This includes all evening activities, practices and sporting events.” Super Saturday Tutoring is also canceled, and will resume March 3.
