Farmington Public Schools: We Are Open; Don't Believe 'Fake Post'

The school district said a social media post stating the the district closed its schools Monday through Wednesday was false.

FARMINGTON-FARMINGTON HILLS, MI — Farmington Public Schools district leaders debunked a social media post that said the school district was closed Monday though Wednesday due to COVID-19 concerns.

"It has come to our attention that there is a fake post circulating stating that Farmington Public Schools is closed Monday through Wednesday in response to the surge in COVID cases -- this is NOT true," district leaders said in a statement Sunday night. "We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow, Monday, January 3, as we return from our winter break."

Detroit Public Schools canceled all classes Monday through Wednesday due to COVID-19 concerns and will provide an update for Thursday and Friday on Wednesday.
