Fatal Crash Reported on I-696 in Farmington Hills

A 22-year-old man was killed in a car accident on I-696 in Farmington Hills Thursday afternoon, according to media reports.

The Macomb Township man was driving on eastbound I-696 west of Orchard Lake Road around 1:30 p.m. when he lost control of his SUV, ran off the road, and drove through a ditch, according to an article in the Oakland Press.

Michigan State Police are investigating the accident, according to WYXZ.

The police told the Oakland Press that alcohol was not a factor and the man was wearing his seat belt.
