Jimmy Buffet Tribute Band Comes to Heritage Park

Music, theater and more are on tap this weekend in Farmington and Farmington Hills.

Expect a flock of Jimmy Buffet fans in Farmington Hills, as a weekend of music and fun starts Thursday evening with a concert in Heritage Park.Β 

Here's a list of entertaining events on ourΒ calendar–what's on yours?Β 

1. Parrots of the Caribbean

Parrots of the Caribbean, a top-notch Jimmy Buffet tribute band, performs Thursday in Heritage Park on Farmington Road in Farmington Hills. The free concert starts at 7 p.m., in the amphitheater, or at the Costick Center on 11 Mile RoadΒ if it's raining.Β 

2. Strings & Rhythm in Riley Park

This Farmington Hills-based band has aΒ neo-folk acoustic rock and alternative music style, covering artists as diverse as Neil Young, Weezer, Van Morrison and Jack Johnson.Β The Luge brothers perform Friday, 7 p.m., at the Walter E. Sundquist Farmington Pavilion and Riley Park on Grand River in Farmington–or at First United Methodist Church if it rains.Β 

3. Bob Monteleone at the Market

A Farmington Farmers and Artisans Market favorite, Monteleone will start playing at 10 a.m. The market opens at 9 a.m., and the first Cookin' at the Market demo of the season with Whole FoodsΒ begins at 11 a.m.

4.Β 'Dracula' auditionsΒ at Farmington Players Barn

If you'd rather entertain than be entertained, stop by this local theater group's home on 12 Mile west of Orchard Lake Road, toΒ try out for a role in the stage version of Bram Stoker's classic horror novel. Auditions start at 1 p.m. on Sunday.Β Learn more at farmingtonplayers.org.Β
