Local Craft Show Returns to First Presbyterian of Farmington
Deborah Draper Brings Community Artisians Together
In 2013, Deborah Draper moved to Michigan with her husband, Bill, eager to settle into their new community. Fueled by her passion for weaving and a desire to support the music ministry at the First Presbyterian Church of Farmington, Deborah came up with a plan: host a craft show. Drawing on her experience from juried craft fairs in Virginia, she set the stage for what would become a beloved community tradition.
What began as a small, home-based event quickly gained popularity. Church members, their neighbors, and friends flocked to purchase Deborah's high-quality, hand-crafted items. As demand grew, the show relocated to Knox Hall at the church, spreading across various spaces in the building. Just as the event was gaining momentum, the COVID-19 pandemic forced a pause.
Now, as life returns to normal, the Farmington First Pres craft show has re-emerged with even greater enthusiasm. The once-annual spring show has become such a hit that a new fall edition was added to meet the growing demand. Featuring a wide variety of handmade goods, this year’s show will include jewelry, greeting cards, photography, candles, handwoven scarves, and much more - perfect for anyone in search of unique, thoughtful gifts.
