Oakland Co. Man Charged In Deadly Hit-And-Run Crash: Prosecutor
The crash happened in Detroit, prosecutors said.
DETROIT — A Farmington Hills man has been charged in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash in Detroit last week, according to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office.
Sandi Odisho, 40, of Sterling Heights, was killed in the crash that happened at 5:52 p.m. last Thursday at the intersection of 8 Mile Road and Schoenherr Street in Detroit, prosecutors said.
Cameron Lee Sims, 23, was charged with operating while intoxicated - causing death, reckless driving – causing death and leaving the scene of an accident when at fault – causing death. He was placed in jail with a $20,000 bond. His next court date is scheduled for Sept. 30.

Prosecutors said Sims was driving drunk and speeding east on 8 Mile when he slammed into Odisho's car, killing her. Sims then fled the scene, prosecutors said.
Investigators arrested Sims in connection with the crash shortly later, prosecutors said.

"An innocent woman is dead because this person was allegedly intoxicated and failed to follow the rules of the road," Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said. "He then compounded that by allegedly leaving the scene of a criminal crash where he was at fault. I have said this over and over again - the rules of the road are not voluntary - they are mandatory."
