Popular Oakland County Italian Restaurant Delays Closing

The popular upscale restaurant is staying open another month due to high demand, especially with events around the upcoming NFL Draft.

SOUTHFIELD, MI — A popular upscale Italian restaurant in Southfield is staying open for another month before it closes down after 22 years in business.

Bacco Ristorante planned to close down at the end of March, but due to high demand, especially with events surrounding the upcoming NFL Draft in Detroit, the restaurant will now stay open until April 28, according to its chef Luciano DelSignore.

"I am thrilled to announce that due to exceptional interest from NFL Draft events at the end of April, along with your heartfelt requests - the Bacco team has decided to extend operations for an encore finale and one more month of dining service," DelSignore said in a statement.

DelSignore didn't exactly say why the restaurant is closing down, other than saying he’ll be embarking on "new horizons," but didn't share any details in the statement.

The restaurant is best-known for its authentic, elegant Italian cuisine as well as its wine.

DelSignore also owns other restaurants, including Casa Pernoi in Birmingham and Bigalora Wood Fired Cucina in Royal Oak, Southfield, Plymouth and Ann Arbor.

Bacco Ristorante, located at 29410 Northwestern Highway in Southfield, is open for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Friday and dinner Saturday through April 28.
