Road Construction This Weekend in Southeast Michigan

The following construction activities are scheduled for the weekend beginning Friday, Oct. 11, and ending Monday, Oct. 14. Some of this work may be postponed due to inclement weather or any unforeseen circumstances.

I-696:
TOTAL CLOSURE
In Oakland and Macomb counties, eastbound I-696 will be closed for construction from I-75 to Mound Road from  8 p.m. on Friday to 5 a.m. on Monday. Also, the entrance ramps between Coolidge Road and Mound Road will be closed during the same time, except for the entrance ramp from Bermuda to eastbound I-696 which will remain open. The detour follows:  Southbound I-75 to eastbound M-102 (8 Mile Road) to northbound Mound Road back to eastbound I-696.

In Macomb County, the eastbound I-696 ramp to eastbound I-94 will have one lane closed for reconstruction from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. 

I-75:
In Oakland County, the southbound and northbound I-75 ramps to eastbound I-696 will be closed in conjunction with the I-696 closure between I-75 and Mound Road from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

In Oakland County, southbound I-75 will have only the right lane open for maintenance from Square Lake Road to 12 Mile Road from 10 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Saturday, and from 10 p.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday.

In Wayne County, southbound I-75 will have two lanes closed for bridge repairs from Springwells Street to Schaefer Road from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. In addition, the Dearborn Street ramp to southbound I-75 will be closed during the same time.

I-94:
In Macomb County, westbound I-94 will have intermittent single-lane closures for reconstruction from Masonic Boulevard to 11 Mile Road from 5 a.m. Saturday to 8 p.m. Sunday. In addition, the 12 Mile Road ramp to westbound I-94, and the westbound I-94 exit and entrance ramps to Little Mack Avenue, will intermittent closures during the same time.

In Macomb County, eastbound I-94 from will have two lanes closed for reconstruction from 11 Mile Road to Masonic Boulevard 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. In addition, there will be intermittent closures on the following ramps during the same time:

• Eastbound I-94 exit and entrance ramps to 12 Mile Road and Little Mack;
• Eastbound I-94 connector ramp to northbound M-3 (Gratiot Avenue); and
• 11 Mile Road ramp to eastbound I-94.

In Wayne County, the eastbound I-94 ramp to northbound M-39 will be closed for concrete patching from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

In Wayne County, westbound I-94 will have only a left lane open for concrete patching near the M-39 interchange from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

I-96:
In Oakland County, westbound I-96 will have two lanes closed for road work from Novi Road to the Livingston County line from 10 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday, 10 p.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday, and 8 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Beginning the week of Monday, Oct. 14:
I-75:
In Wayne County, southbound I-75 will have the left lane closed for bridge work at M-102 (8 Mile Road) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday.

In Wayne County, northbound I-75 will have the left lane closed for bridge work at M-102 (8 Mile Road) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday.

In Wayne County, the westbound M-102 (8 Mile Road) ramp to southbound I-75 will be closed for work on the service drive from 9 a.m. Monday to 4 p.m. Friday.

I-96:
In Oakland County, westbound I-96 will have two lanes closed for road work from Novi Road to the Livingston County line from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday through Friday.

M-8: (Davison Freeway):
In Wayne County, westbound M-8 (Davison Freeway) will have a left lane closed for road work from Oakland Street to M-10 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday.

M-10 (Lodge Freeway):
In Wayne County, northbound M-10 (Lodge Freeway) will have a right lane closed for bridge work at Calvert Street from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday.

In Wayne County, southbound M-10 (Lodge Freeway) will have a right lane closed for bridge work at Calvert Street from9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday.

M-153 (Ford Road):
In Wayne County, eastbound M-153 (Ford Road) will have a right lane closed for road work at York Street from 9 a.m. Monday to 3 p.m. Friday.
