Rotary District 6380 Team Turkey Strikes Again

Each fall a number of Oakland County Rotary clubs begin Thanksgiving morning before sun up filling volunteer's cars with completely cooked Thanksgiving meals for families in Oakland County who would not be able to enjoy Thanksgiving Dinner without a bit of help. This year Rotary clubs from Birmingham, Lakes Area, Troy and West Bloomfield are joined by the Troy Fire Department in imagining tables filled with turkeys and all the trimmings for many families who otherwise might be facing an empty table.

Volunteer delivery drivers meet at the Rochester Meijer about 7:30 am to receive their assignments and food boxes. Deliveries are generally completed by 10 am leaving plenty of time to celebrate the holiday with loved ones. Yes, everyone is home before the football games begin!

Each meal feeds a family of four and costs $60. Meijer generously donates a pie with each meal.
