Still Time to Have Fun This Summer in Farmington and Farmington Hills
We've found five fun events and activities for kids to enjoy before heading back to school Sept. 3.

While summer vacation is windingΒ down, kids can still have plenty of fun in Farmington and Farmington Hills this month.Β
Here are five of the activities we found; feel free to add your own suggestions with a comment:
1. Family Fun Fest
This carnivalΒ will run August 15 and 16,Β 5 p.m.-11 p.m.,Β Aug. 17,Β 12 p.m.-11 p.m., and Aug. 18,Β 12 p.m.-9 p.m. in Founders Sports Park on Eight Mile Road west of Gill.Β Enjoy everything fromΒ spectacular thrill rides and kiddie rides to midwayΒ games, and delicious carnival food. The Wanna Bees close out this summer concert series on Aug. 21, with a free 7 p.m. concert in downtown Farmington's Walter E. Sundquist Pavilion andΒ Riley Park on Grand River. Through music, theΒ group introduces kids to careers they may want to try.3. Marshmallow Fly and Fry
See the Cityβs largest campfire ever at the annual Marshmallow Fly and Fry in Heritage Park Aug. 20, 5 p.m.-8 p.m.Β Hot dogs, sβmores, and drinks will be available for a small fee, then after dinner,Β kids line up and retrieve marshmallows dropped from the Fire Department ladder truck.Β For more information, call 248-473-1800.
4. Splash Bash
Stop by Heritage Park Aug. 26, 6 p.m.-10 p.m. to enjoyΒ the splash pad, bouncer, games, nature hikes, and a whole lot more during this free event. Food and drinks will be available for purchase, and the movieΒ βThe Loraxβ starts at 8:30 p.m. No need to register, just show up!

5. Performing Arts Camps
