Stunning Photos Don't Just Happen: Learn From An Expert

Oakland Community College photography instructor S. Kay Young will lead digital photography classes in Farmington Hills.

FARMINGTON HILLS, MI – Established photographer S. Kay Young will lead a series of digital photography classes offered by the Cultural Arts Division of the city of Farmington Hills.

The classes will be held from 1-3 p.m. on four consecutive Saturdays, beginning Feb. 27 and lasting through March 19, at the Stables Studio in Heritage Park.

Young will teach participants how to master the mechanics of their digital SLR cameras and how to improve composition skills. The class will also cover the best ways to store, organize, edit, share, and print photographs.

Both beginner and advanced students are welcome; the small class size accommodates individual and group instruction.

Class members will take frequent walks through Heritage Park, so please dress appropriately.

Young studied photography at College for Creative Studies, worked at the Detroit Institute of Arts, and has taught photography for more than ten years at Oakland Community College.

“The synchronicity between Young’s art and teaching practice enables students to light upon surprising images and points of view as they discover their individual voices,” said local art historian, author, and Professor Dennis Nawrocki.

Digital Photography classes are open to both residents and non-residents.
