5 Things About the Lake Fenton School District
Here are some facts you may have not known about Lake Fenton Schools.

1. Lake Fenton Schools began in 1840 in the area around Baldwin Road called Mount Pleasant.
2. The anchor in front of came from the steamship Evening Star, which was left to decay and later sank in Lake Fenton before it was recovered and donated to the school.
3. Lake Fenton Schools are the result of the consolidation of six one-room schools, including the O'Dell School, which was the first recorded school in Genesee County in 1837.

4. In 1922, Lake Fenton considered consolidating with Linden Schools, but voters turned down the proposal. The second attempt at consolidation occurred with in 1952 and was again voted down by those in the Lake Fenton district.
5. In 1952 Lake Fenton hired two new teachers, for a total of 13, that taught a student population of 178 students. Lunch cost $1.10 per week.
