If you're looking for a place to get started, we've rounded up five fun things to do in the Fenton area before the kids head back to school. Pro tip: Call ahead to confirm hours and access, stay hydrated, and if you're heading outdoors, bring plenty of SPF and bug spray!


1. Silver Lake Park

Silver Lake Park, the largest park in Fenton, covers 35.4 acres and provides a wide range of activities for kids. The park includes ball fields, volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, badminton courts, and children's play equipment. It also boasts a 300-foot beach with lifeguards. Starting on Aug. 21, the beach will close at 7:30 p.m., and the park will close at 8 p.m. Click here for more info.

Ease the kids back to school with a trip to the Fenton-Winegarden Library! Throughout the month of August, the library’s events calendar is full of special story times, arts and crafts sessions, and crochet learning classes. 3. Flint Children’s Museum
