Crime and Fire Report: Siblings Arrested After Traffic Stop, Blaze Burns Fenton Township Basement
The following arrest information was supplied by the Fenton Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The responded to a basement fire around 1 a.m. Feb. 9 on the 1000 block of Petts Road.
Fenton Township Fire Chief Ryan Volz said there was heavy smoke and the floor joists were on fire upon arrival. The flames also moved to the furnace. Volz said firefighters were able to get the blaze under control quickly and had it extinguished by 1:44 a.m.
"It was an old house and we had to make sure we got all the crack and crevices," Volz said.

Volz said the blaze may have had some interaction with the fireplace.
Firefighters cleared the scene at 3:29 a.m.

Siblings arrested after traffic stop
arrested a 41-year-old Columbus, OH resident after a traffic stop on U.S. 23 when an officer discover she had a taser in the vehicle.
Fenton Police Chief Rick Aro said an officer made the traffic stop and issued a speeding ticket. The officer asked the woman if she had any weapons and she said she had the taser, which is legal in Ohio, but illegal for civilians in Michigan.
The woman was taken to the Fenton Police Department and the taser was confiscated and the case is pending a warrant from the prosecutorβs officer.
It was also discovered the womanβs brother, a 31-year-old Columbus resident who was a passenger in the car, had an outstanding warrant in Genesee County for failure to pay child support in excess of $10,000 and was turned over to the Genesee County Sheriffβs Department.
