Dianne North Resigns from Fenton City Council
Council will have to appoint new member to fill final two years of term.

Three people will be elected to the today and their first job might be to appoint another member.
Councilwoman Dianne North resigned from her seat at Monday's work session, citing personal and professional reasons, the Fenton Press reported.
North has been on Fenton City Council since 2001 and is currently serving her third term. She has served on the Fenton Beautification Commission and the Zoning Board.

There are two years left on her term.
That potentially could mean an unsuccessful candidate today could end up with a seat in the near future.

Incumbent , former Department of Public Works director , former Fenton Mayor  and business owner are competing for three four-year term council seats.
Also, current Councilman is running against longtime for a two-year term for Mayor.
The seats of King, Faricy and John Rauch will expire. Rauch did not run for re-election. The winners and appointed member will join Benjamin Smith and Bradley Jacob on the city council.
