Fenton Businesses Participating in Text to Win Contest

You’ve heard about shopping local, but now you can text local.

Winning could be as simple as a text message in a contest run by Howell-based Right Way Marketing along with Fenton and Holly businesses.

In the 2011 Holly-Fenton Local Business Giveaway, all you have to do is text WINNER to 55958 for a chance to win prizes from , , and many other local businesses.

“We thought it would be a good way to get people interested in local business,” Right Way Marketing spokesman Nick Bramble said. “We want to get people in town and in the doors.”

A total of 31 businesses in the Fenton and Holly area are participating and giving away 140 prizes.

is giving away five free two-week trials and five free one-hour personal training sessions.

“I thought it was a neat idea,” owner Shawn Stevens said. “I think it is a good chance for business owners to get their name out there.”

Some of the other prizes include a $20 gift card from Mimi & Lola’s, four one-week bronzing packages and two free full body sprays from , and $100 cash from Right Way Marketing.

Winners will be announced on July 5 and will receive a text message indicating they are a winner. They will then receive a phone call within 24 hours to let them know what prize they won.
