Fenton Film Series to Present Hysteria

Film showing to take place at 7 p.m. Feb. 13 at the Fenton Community & Cultural Center.

On Wednesday, Feb. 13th, the Fenton Film Series will present  Hysteria, a British romantic comedy starring Maggie Gyllenhaal, Hugh Dancy, Rubert Everett and Felicity Jones.

The comedy gives serious lesson on the social history of women's health care.  The movie is set in 19th century London and portrays the era's backward state of medical science. The film uses the history of gynecology as a backdrop for a romantic comedy.

In Victorian London, almost every female complaint to their doctor was diagnosed as "hysteria" and treated in shocking and comical ways. The film has met with phenomenal success at film festivals worldwide and now comes to Fenton.
