Fenton Patch Grand Opening

Here is a look at the celebratory event that took place at the Fenton Winery & Brewery Thursday.

Four months ago, people in Fenton might have thought “Patch” was something they put over a hole in their pants or something a pirate wore on their eye.

In a short time, however, Fenton Patch is known as a valuable news source in the community.

On Thursday, the new venture celebrated its Grand Opening at the complete with food, fun, prizes, a special Patch Pint and a ribbon cutting ceremony by Fenton Regional Chamber of Commerce President Shelly Day.

It wasn’t long ago when I was handing out business cards, water bottles and Patch pens at the Fenton Jinglefest.

At the time, I had no idea if Fenton Patch would work.

How are people going to find out about it? Who’s going to look at it? Who is going to help me produce quality content?

Well, since I have been amazed with the progress. I’ve been impressed how quickly the website grew and how many people were talking about it and logging on. I’ve been floored by the support. I’ve been surprised by the excellence writing by my team.

I also have a whole new appreciation at the encouragement and cooperation of my hometown. Not just in helping me achieve my goals, but in helping each other. Fenton truly is a great community where people care about each other and help each other out. I am happy Fenton Patch is a part of that.

So far, we’ve exceeded every expectation and goal.

And while I’ve put in a ton of hard work, I’m not the one who made Fenton Patch successful.

You are.

You helped when you were one of the 620 that logged onto Fenton Patch the very first day.

And you, when you heard about us when we wrote .

You helped us be successful when you told your friend about our story, video and pictures when we reported .

And how could I forget you, when you were one of the 337 people to recommend to your friends on Facebook.

Also a special thanks to those who have written letters to the editor, given us news tips or even just a few kind words.

Also, a big thank you to all who have contributed to the site. Fenton Patch wouldn’t be anything without you. And Fenton Patch wouldn’t be very neat without the editors who read everything that gets posted.

So thank you for making Fenton Patch successful.

And one more thing.

We are just getting started…
