Fenton Township Approves Dive Rescue Team

Water rescue team was proposed earlier this year in response to recent drownings in the community.

The Fenton Township Board of Trustees recently approved the formation of a dive rescue team.

The team, which will serve as first responders to water rescue, was approved at the board's meeting on Monday night, according to an article at mlive.com.

A water rescue team was proposed by Fire Chief Ryan Volz earlier this year in response to the July 2012 drownings of Fenton resident 11, who was playing in Marl Lake when he disappeared into the water, and a 25-year-old Flat Rock man who jumped off a boat into Lake Fenton and did not resurface.
