Flash Mob Crashes Applefest

Around 100 performers surprise crowd with a dance.

The has plenty of activities and entertainment choices on its calendar of events.

However, one thing that wasn't on the list entertained the crowd for a few minutes Saturday.

About 100 performers put on a "flash mob" dance at 3 p.m.

"We always wanted to do it," said Fenton School of Dance teacher Chelsea Carter. "We wanted to be spontaneous and we thought it would be fun to have the parents and kids involved."

Keeping it a secret was challenging for all.

Marissa Bellinger, 13, of Fenton tried her best.

"It was so hard. You wanted to tell all of your friends," she said.

"We tried to keep it quiet, but that's impossible with 100 teenagers," Fenton School of Dance teacher Crystyl Mitchell-Fritz said.

The dance began with just a couple of people and grew as the performance went on.
