Fenton Hosts Zombie Wedding and Haunted Parade

The Haunted Parade and Party sponsored by Tanglewood Assisted Living included more than 200 people.

The parade, led by a violinist playing the theme from Young Frankenstein, stretched out over two blocks with both adults and kids in costumes.  

"The police stopped traffic to get us across the street and folks in cars were smiling, honking and waving," Strayer said.

The parade made its way to the Gazebo where officials conducted a Zombie wedding ceremony with Matt and Chelsea Mills, owners of Freeze Frame Photo Lounge as the Zombie bride and groom.  

After taking wedding photos, which included everyone in the parade, participants marched back to the Fenton Community & Cultural Center, which had been decorated for the occasion, where there was free food (ribs, pizza, pork sliders, cole slaw from and cookies from Avalon Hospice), and free photos from Freeze Frame Photo Lounge.  

There was pop and water for the kids and beer and wine for adults.  Also available was an activity table and candy for kids from .  A black and white, silent vampire movie from 1922 entitled Nosferatu and the jazz duo Touch (Joe Purrenhage and Dave Knopps) played eerie music.

"We're very excited about the turnout and we are already planning next year's event," Strayer said.
