Police: Fenton Man with Gun Chases Theft Suspects
Actions of two men are being reviewed by the prosecutors office.

Police have forwarded a case to the prosecutor in which a teenager was reported to have stolen a cell phone holder from a vehicle and then was chased by the vehicle owner, who had a gun.
Chief Rick Aro said police received a call at 8 p.m. on Oct. 24 and responded to the 1500 block of North LeRoy Street. The caller told police he had caught someone stealing from his vehicle and had apprehended the suspect.
Aro said two cars arrived on scene and officers saw a man standing with a handgun and another man lying on the ground. Police took the gun and interviewed both men.

Aro said the man with the gun, a 29-year-old Fenton resident, told police he had left a nearby building and saw two people walking away from his vehicle. He told police he looked inside his Ford Ranger and noticed a cell phone holder missing. He reported that he chased two people into the woods, drew his gun and yelled out that he had a gun.
Aro said the man reported one of the people, a 15-year-old Fenton male, came out from hiding and the 29-year-old man confronted him and struck him with the gun. The other person fled and couldn't be found.

The 29-year-old told police he then ordered the 15-year-old back to the parking lot and called 911, Aro said.
Police say they are requesting a warrant for larceny from a vehicle. They also made a report of the man’s action with the gun.
