Police Officer: I Knew I Could Die Going In
Linden City Council honors Gary Conklin for his life-saving efforts for two men who fell in manhole in Fenton Township.

The Linden City Council honored a police officer for his life-saving efforts Monday, the Fenton Press reported.
near Prices Airport in Fenton Township where two construction workers fell into a manhole. Fenton Township Battalion Chief Ryan Volz told Fenton Patch two men were overcome by the fumes and fell while doing work on the sewer.
Fenton Patch reported Linden Police officer Gary Conklin descended into the hole before Fenton Township firefighters arrived and turned the men over so their faces were not in the water. Conklin had to be put on oxygen after exiting the manhole.
