Crime Report: Prescription Drug Fraud, Stolen Check

The following arrest information was supplied by the Fenton Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Fenton police arrested a 31-year-old Howell resident on charges of illegally possessing prescription drugs after a traffic stop for a seatbelt violation on Owen Road near Fenway Drive.

Police found the man had a prescription bottle, which Fenton Police Chief Aro said had a name and address of man he told police he didn’t know, that contained Vicodin and Alprazolam.

Police held him at the over night and officers are pursuing a warrant for possession of a controlled substance.

Missing check

An 18-year-old Fenton man reported his paycheck missing from the 200 block of Trealout Drive around 5 p.m. March 6.

Aro said the man told police the paycheck was in his truck and came up missing between 2:30 and 5 p.m. The man told police he thought he had locked his vehicle, but the passenger side door was not lock.

He told police another resident had told him he found the check stub outside of the vehicle.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.

Fraudulent prescription

Fenton Police arrested a 25-year-old Flint resident on charges of a false prescription after he filled a script at on March 8.

Aro said the pharmacist became suspicious of the prescription and police called the doctor on the script, who said it was fraudulent and said he believed the man had used his name on 30 to 40 false prescriptions.
